The "Quiescenta" lampshade is not a form decision for the sake of form – it is geometry with an effect. The spirally arranged veneer strips of FSC-certified walnut leave the inner body at the top and return at the bottom. The light hits each lamella evenly from the inside, bringing the chocolate-brown grain to life without glare.
Material & Craftsmanship
Each Quiescenta is handcrafted to order in Cologne. The construction consists of spiral strips of genuine FSC-certified walnut veneer. The transparent inner body holds the structure and enables the characteristic play of light. Walnut is one of the few woods that appears deeper in light than in darkness – the brown tones range from cocoa to mahogany depending on the incidence of light. The grain, sometimes calm and straight, sometimes slightly wavy, ensures that no two pieces look alike. The lampshade is modular and fits all standard E27 sockets as well as Gofurnit's separately available sockets for pendant, ceiling, wall, or floor lamps – tool-free connection.
Dimensions & Compatibility
With a diameter of 45 cm and a height of 27 cm, the Quiescenta is large enough for a room, yet precise enough not to be obtrusive. The inner body measures 20 cm in height and 12 cm in diameter. Gofurnit recommends a warm white LED with 2700 K and 7–12 watts – at this color temperature, the brown of the walnut is most pronounced.
