portance

Sustainable anti-odour technology for longer wear & less washing Saves water & energy.
First permanent, non-ionic and non-chemical anti-odour technology
Digital product passport and open supply chain via NFC chip

Portance is an impact-driven D2C active and outdoorwear brand that is the first to bring innovative digital and textile technologies to market - with the aim of massively reducing the carbon footprint of fashion at consumer level and restoring the lost connection to what people wear in times of globalisation and ultra-fast fashion.

Portance values Europe as a production location. As a German start-up, the company benefits from the short distances and direct, personal contact with partners and suppliers in Europe. Portance is manufactured in a family-run textile factory in Poland, and all merino products are made in a family-run factory in Lithuania. Every single product is handmade to a high standard by seamstresses, some of whom have been working for the partner companies for more than 30 years. These traditional businesses are an example of how sustainable textile production in Europe can work fairly and ethically. Portance values personal and family contact and regularly visits its partners near Warsaw and Kaunas. The start-up is happy to accept higher production prices in order to make the sports and outdoor fashion market smarter, cleaner and more innovative - and to enable the people who work on the products to earn a fair income. The brand prides itself on knowing and selecting every single supplier in the textile value chain. Whether it's the manufacturers of recycled logo patches, washing labels and recycled nylon zips or the suppliers of the biodegradable product shipping bags - Portance attaches great importance to details and wants to know where the product components come from and which materials are used.

Organic fibres: The main raw material for Portance's first collection is organic cotton, which is grown in Turkey and India. Organic means that no pesticides are used during cultivation - thus protecting the soil, the groundwater and the local plantation workers.

Shipping usually takes 1-2 working days and is carried out by DHL (national) or UPS (international). The packaging is made from recycled plastic and certified natural paper. Returns are returned to the warehouse after inspection - however, Portance encourages conscious ordering.
