This is reflected in safe, fairly paid production that is regulated in accordance with EU directives, the choice of environmentally friendly, vegan materials and environmentally friendly processes such as short transport routes.

Cork fabric is a renewable material with leather-like properties: it is water-repellent, abrasion-resistant and biodegradable. The cork fabric used by Mandy is ‘vegan-approved’ by PETA and comes from Portugal and Italy. The brilliant cotton velvet used and the interlining are also produced in Italy. Mandy uses organic cotton from Pakistan for the lining. The interlining, the lining fabric and the sewing thread comply with the ‘Oeko-Tex Standard 100’ and the zips and press studs are made in Germany. The former bear the ‘Assured Sustainability’ seal of approval. The car seat belt webbing comes from Poland. Buckles and sliders come from Italy. Small parts such as carabiners, magnets and parts of the yarn are produced in China.

The products are packaged plastic-free and shipped CO2-neutral with DHL, and every return is inspected and tested for possible defects. If the goods are returned due to damage, customers are sent a new product free of charge or the purchase price is refunded, depending on their preference. Faultless goods are put back on sale. Defects that can be rectified will be repaired. If the defects remain visible but the product is still usable, it will be offered for sale at a reduced price. If the defects are so severe that they render the product unusable, as much of the product as possible will be recycled.
