Vintage Ceramics Transform into a Flexible Design Lamp
This wireless accent lamp was created from an original 1970 Marei vase – a piece of West German Pottery history. The intense Plum Noir of the glaze glows in completely different facets depending on the light. Thanks to the rechargeable LED bulb with remote control, the lamp is your flexible companion – whether on your bedside table, sideboard, or balcony.
Material & Craftsmanship
The vase itself is impeccably preserved – no damage, no glaze loss. The typical Marei glaze is extremely vibrant and lively, with the violet possessing an almost velvety luminosity. The conversion to a lamp was done without drilling or permanent alteration, using a reversible plug-in solution. The opening is sealed with a high-quality brass plate, and the E27 socket also has a brass look. The lampshade is made of dyed African batik fabric with bright, graphic patterns – the contrasting color enhances the expressive color richness of the vase.
Technology & Flexibility
Equipped with a high-quality, rechargeable LED bulb, dimmable via remote control (warm white or color selection possible), timer function (15 / 30 / 60 minutes), USB-C rechargeable, up to 12 hours of illumination. The bulb is also suitable for outdoor use – the lamp works on balconies and terraces. It looks particularly impressive with the color setting: the deep Plum Noir then truly begins to glow.
