The “Matcha Chawan” in beige is a timeless interpretation of the classic Japanese matcha bowl: minimalist, functional, and thoughtfully crafted. It was made on a potter's wheel in Mannheim, and each bowl bears the unique characteristics of genuine handmade work. The subtle spout allows for precise pouring, while the different surface treatments ensure a secure grip and creamy matcha foam.
Material & Craftsmanship
The robust stoneware is traditionally hand-thrown: matte and unglazed on the outside, smoothly glazed on the inside for optimal foam creation and effortless cleaning. This combination is no coincidence – the rough exterior provides a good grip, while the smooth interior guides the chasen (matcha whisk) and allows for creamy, stable foam. Each piece is unique, with natural color variations and surface textures – an expression of true craftsmanship.
