Designer Vase Becomes Cordless Lamp – 60s Classic with a New Purpose
This table lamp combines studio pottery history with modern convenience: it is based on an iconic vase from Cari Zalloni's "Zyklon" series for Steuler Keramik. The Italian designer (1937–2012) significantly influenced post-war European ceramics and later international pop and streetwear culture – his Cazal brand sunglasses became a symbol of hip-hop culture.
Material & Craftsmanship
The vase is made of Steuler ceramic with a characteristic deep blue glaze and concentrically incorporated circular structures – the trademark of the Zyklon series. The object-friendly conversion to a lamp is carried out using a reversible plug-in solution: a stable, weighted lamp base ensures a secure stand, and the vase opening has been sealed with a high-quality brass cap. The collector's value with original bottom embossing remains fully preserved. The lampshade (diameter 18 cm) is covered with Japanese cotton fabric with a koi motif – stylized carp and water as a subtle design element.

Height of the vase without fitting: 15 cm | Total height of the lamp: approx. 36 cm. The lamp is completely cordless: it is powered by a rechargeable LED bulb (E27 fitting in brass look) which is charged via USB-C and illuminates for up to 12 hours. With the included remote control, you can dim and choose between several light colors. The LED bulb is suitable for outdoor use and costs approx. 12 Euros to repurchase.
